Fundraiser for Silo SE8 Musicians Collective
Deptford based musicians collective SIlo SE8 invite you to join them in celebrating over 30 years of independent grassroots music creation, as they fight to keep the space that binds them.
Headliners Blurt are a British trio producing what some have described as Dada-Avantgarde-Jazz or Paranoid Jazz-Mutant Funk. Centered around Ted Milton’s alto-sax and poetry. Drummer David Aylward is a founding member of Silo SE8 collective.
Lello began making collective noise in the Silo, 2021. They released their debut album last year recorded by Capitol K, Total Refreshment Centre. Their noisy, sax driven, cinematic post-punk is inspired by local cowboys, big hair and shrinking chip shop portions.
Johny Brown fronts the Band of Holy Joy, he hosts a radio show called Bad Punk on resonancefm and has just released Corpse Flower a book of prose poetry.
Silo SE8 musicians collective:
Silo SE8 is a cooperatively run rehearsal space for independent musicians housing over 25 members. Deeply embedded in the local community, Silo SE8 has provided a musical home to an ever changing cast of independent local musicians for over 30 years. Presently, unscrupulous corporate landlords are now threatening an end to Silo SE8s long-standing tenure of their Deptford home with a rent hike which was backdated to the date of their 2020 rent review. Whilst immoral, this action unfortunately, is legal. All proceeds of this event go to securing the future of this space.
