SUMMARY:Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp + Prince Fatty
DESCRIPTION:The psychedelic\, genre-bending Swiss collective is followed by an equally eclectic range of cuts from Prince Fatty \nOrchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp is a perpetually evolving ‘orchestra’\, loosely modelled on the great 20th-century African groups like Tout Puissant Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou and tipping its hat to revolutionary French artist Marcel Duchamp. \nNew album Ventre Unique – their sixth\, and the successor to 2021’s acclaimed We’re Ok But We’re Lost Anyway – is as exuberant as it is emotionally fraught with a dream amalgam of folk\, krautrock\, post-punk and African rhythms that feels both uncluttered and beautifully organic. \nThe album will be released on Bongo Joe Records (Vincent Bertholet co-founded the label with Cyril Yeterian)\, with band and label both sharing a collective vision that was forged from Geneva’s punk history and squat scene. It finds them once again exploring contemporary anxieties and setting them to music that balances fat\, loping grooves – built around simple loops written by Bertholet – sparkling marimba\, strident horns and strings with dissonance and angular guitar riffs. The beautiful sleeve art comes courtesy of French painter Dove Perspicacius. The recording of Ventre Unique took place over ten days in a studio near Paris\, Studio Midilive in Villetaneuse\, and was overseen by Johannes Buff who mixed We’re Ok But We’re Lost Anyway. \n \nPrince Fatty has worked with varied global talents\, such as London’s Horseman\, México’s Panteón Rococó\, California’s Stick Figure\, Shniece\, Scotland’s Mungo’s Hi-Fi\, Little Roy\, Winston Francis\, Jamaican superstars Big Youth and Marcia Griffiths\, Afrobeat musicians including Dele Sosimi and Kunle Justice\, Latin maverick Manu Chao and hip-hop godfathers The Last Poets.

SUMMARY:Fulu Miziki
DESCRIPTION:Eco–Friendly–Afro–futuristic–Punk–Assemble returns to the Fox after last year’s incomparable performance. \nFulu Miziki roughly translates as “music from garbage” which is in a literal sense is an accurate\ndescription of the thrillingly chaotic collective of artists who comes straight from a future where humans have reconciled with mother earth and with themselves. This multidisciplinary collective is based in Congolese capital city Kinshasa. \nFor several years now\, it’s members have spent an amount of time conceptualising an orchestra made from objects found in the trash\, constantly changing instruments\, and always in search of new sounds. \nMaking their own instruments\, costumes\, and masks is essential to the approach of Fulu Miziki’s musical core ideology. Their unique sound supports a pan–African message of artistic liberation\, peace and a severe look at the ecological situation of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the whole world. For Fulu everything can be recovered and re–enchanted. \n TICKETS
