DESCRIPTION:Tokyo Riddim returns to its spiritual home\, Fox & Firkin\, for a full summer Sunday of live music\, DJs\, record digging\, Japanese market stalls and family-friendly outdoor energy. \nAfter a series of packed London parties\, Tokyo Riddim Sunday brings the sound back to where Tokyo Riddim Band first came alive: a cross-cultural meeting point between Japanese music\, reggae\, dub and record culture. \nLive on stage\, Tokyo Riddim Band brings together three generations of Japanese female musicians with reggae-rooted drums\, heavy bass\, city pop guitar and live dub mixing. AfroPeruvian Jarana\, Chichafunk by Big Pollo\, and closing the night\, all the way from Peru\, La Cadencia DJ set bringing the latest cumbias and huaynos from Lima\, de todas las sangres\, in a night to remember. \n \nLine up \nEliana Rosas & Kieffer Santander: Jarana Afro-Peruana \nPeruvian-born\, London-based artists performing coastal live music and dance\, including criolla music and Afro-Peruvian fusion music in London with Kieffer Santander\, maestro multi-percussionist playing Peruvian and Latin music in the UK for more than 30 years. Over the years Eliana and Kieffer have brought the Afro-Peruvian month celebration to London\, in some iconic venues including the Water Rats\, and throughout the Orchids Festival at Kew Gardens\, in 2025. In London and in several European cities a Jarana Afro-Peruana has recreated the traditional musical gatherings\, usually taking place in ‘callejones’\, a communal living area in Peru\, lasting several days of live music and dance. A musical legacy that stirs from the unique combination of Indigenous\, African and European influences catalysing collective joy\, resilience building and liberation. Expect nostalgic guitars\, energetic festejos\, live dance and singalong of “Contigo Peru”. \n \n \n  \nBig Pollo \nA Peruvian band formed in 2005 by Tato Elera\, Milky Fresh\, and brothers Pepe & Bruno Timarchi. Their sound\, “Chichafunky”\, is a vibrant fusion of Latin funk\, psychedelic chicha (Peruvian cumbia)\, and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. A sound that feels like Peru dancing with the world. Often described as James Brown meeting Chacalón in a futuristic Latin funk universe\, Big Pollo has built a unique identity that blends tradition\, groove\, and global energy. With six studio albums and multiple international tours\, the band has performed across the Americas and Europe\, including U.S. tours (2013–2014)\, Europe (2022–2023)\, and the UK (2025)\, as well as appearances at festivals such as Boomtown Festival. \n \nLa Cadencia\, DJ Set \nLa Cadencia is a key cultural platform researching and situating the popular history of Peru through migrant music like cumbia\, chicha\, huayno. In a finely tuned alchemy of sound\, space and energy\, Steam Down have mastered the art of enriching human emotional\, social and collective state of being through music.  Founded by multi-instrumentalist\, composer and producer Ahnansé in 2017\, the initial event was created to connect London based musicians and producers. Since then it has evolved into a weekly event where Steam Down artists and its extended musical family generate spontaneous sonic soundscapes reflecting their lives in the city.  Steam Down has quickly become a household name in London’s music scene\, receiving two Jazz FM awards including the innovation award sponsored by Mishcon De Reya and live experience of the year award sponsored by Yamaha UK featuring Kamasi Washington. In addition\, Sky News produced a full feature on Steam Down and its fundamental role within London’s flourishing jazz scene.  Imaginary Millions started off as a live jam in Shoreditch where regulars came to expect two hours of incredible non-stop live improvised music where any member of the audience could get up and sing\, rap\, speak\, dance as they felt moved. Imaginary Millions have also had one of Soho Radio’s most exciting radio shows over the last 5+ years. The 13-strong group has a classic salsa line-up of trumpets\, trombones\, baritone sax and full Afro-Cuban rhythm section\, fronted by fabulous singers Nestor Rojas (Venezuela)\, Diego Abril (Colombia) and Victor Mastrangioli (Venezuela). ¡A gozar! \nBandleader David Strahan (baritone sax) brought the group together during dark days of Covid lockdown to make online video recordings of salsa classics like Ray Barretto’s Indestructible. Since then they have been gigging hard and building up an enthusiastic following in London’s Latino and salsa-dancing communities. The band’s name is a combination of ‘mambo’ and ‘baritono’ – the Spanish for baritone. \nAlong with many gigs around London\, Mambarito has played major festivals like Carnaval del Pueblo and the Sidmouth International Jazz Festival\, and plays regularly at Pizza Express Soho and Hyde Park Bandstand.\nThe band’s first single\, The Mambarito Mambo\, written and produced by Colombian vibes player and bandleader Dorance Lorza\, is now available on all the main streaming platforms. \n“Orquesta Mambarito\, without a doubt\, is one of the best live bands on the salsa scene\, great sound\, great vibe\, great energy\, I’ve never seen so many dancers on the floor when they play. DESCRIPTION:Expect powerful rhythms\, uplifting voices\, dancing\, participation and a carnival atmosphere that will leave you ready for Carnival weekend. \nBefore taking to the streets of Notting Hill Carnival\, Dendê Nation\, winners of the Notting Hill Carnival 2025 Brazilian Bands Category\, invite audiences to a special pre-carnival celebration bringing together the artists\, music and communities behind  Ìjó Ìdílé – Rooted & Rising. \nThe evening marks the culmination of months of drumming\, dance and singing activities that have connected participants across England through a shared celebration of culture\, creativity and belonging. It is also an opportunity for audiences to experience the energy\, rhythms and spirit that will power Dendê Nation’s return to Notting Hill Carnival. \nAt a time when many communities feel increasingly divided\,  Ìjó Ìdílé celebrates the cultural connections that unite us. For one evening\, an Afro-Brazilian Samba-Reggae bloco and a Jamaican-rooted community choir share the same stage\, highlighting the African heritage that continues to shape music\, carnival and collective celebration across continents. \nLeading the evening is Dendê Nation\, joined by special guest Marivaldo Paim\, Musical Director of Ilê Aiyê\, the pioneering Afro-Brazilian cultural organisation from Salvador\, Bahia. \n \nReggae Choir \nSpecial guests Reggae Choir bring their uplifting sound and infectious energy to the stage with a full live set of reggae classics and contemporary favourites. Reggae Choir is an exciting amateur\, non-audition\, non-religious\, contemporary ensemble\, open to all who enjoy singing reggae music\, regardless of skill or experience. \nFormed in 2012 Reggae Choir have performed at many indoor and outdoor events and festivals including the U.K’s largest Reggae and Dub festival ‘One Love’ Festival\, Citadel Festival\, The London International Ska Festival\, Royal Festival Hall\, Jazz Café  and The Royal Academy of Arts to name but a few. \n \nSupported by Arts Council England\, Ijó Ìdílé celebrates the ancestral roots that continue to inspire communities today while creating new spaces for connection\, creativity and collective joy. \nProduced by Gandaia Arts \nSupported by Arts Council England & Black Butterfly
