SUMMARY:Havana Meets Kingston Sound System
DESCRIPTION:The mastermind behind the Havana Meets Kingston project Mista Savona brings the full power of bass culture to Lewisham\, supported by Tropical Tea Party’s DJ Hiphoppapotamus and Feline. \nHavana Meets Kingston’s sound system show sprang from a trip to Cuba in 2014 for a musical meeting of the two islands. Mista Savona invited his favourite musical collaborators from Jamaica to fly with him into Cuba in 2015\, and in 2017 the first ‘Havana Meets Kingston’ album was released to widespread critical acclaim. The project features giants of the two musical scenes – Sly & Robbie\, members of Buena Vista Social Club\, Los Van Van\, Irakere\, Ernest Ranglin & many more greats. \nThis show features Savona himself behind the decks\, accompanied by live instrumentation which promises to channel the creative flair of the original album. \nHiphoppapotamus is a DJ\, producer and sonic architect of joy — a constant source of sunshine\, whatever the weather. His productions blend rootsy Afro\, Latin and Caribbean rhythms with Breaks\, House\, Drum & Bass/Jungle and Hip-Hop\, he’s crafted a signature sound that’s instantly uplifting and irresistibly danceable. The result: feel-good\, globally infused party music designed to move bodies and lift spirits in equal measure. \nFeline incorporates a range of styles inspired by reggae\, hip hop and bass heavy music to accompany his own original tracks; well versed in capturing any kind of crowd with positive flows and impeccable sounds.

SUMMARY:Adam Holmes
DESCRIPTION:The Scottish singer and storyteller brings his irresistible voice to this rare London appearance. \nAdam Holmes is a Scottish BBC award-winning songwriter whose work has found a distinct and enduring place in the UK folk landscape. \nHis songs have been broadcast across BBC Radio and featured in television and film\, including Outlander and Apple TV productions. \nIn recent years\, his music has reached a global audience\, drawing in a new generation of listeners while staying close to those who have followed his work over time. \nRaised in Portobello\, the second youngest of eight children\, Holmes grew up surrounded by music. The slow airs and church hymns of his childhood continue to shape his melodic sensibility\, alongside early exposure to Edinburgh’s folk scene and long nights listening and learning old fiddle tunes by ear. \nAt 19\, on the same day he was offered an apprenticeship on the building site\, Adam received a call confirming his place in the semi-finals of the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year. He chose music and has followed that path since. \nIn the years that followed he played a thousand times wherever he could. Small rooms\, quiet corners and the kinds of spaces where a song either holds or it doesn’t. \nHe has shared stages with artists including Martin Simpson\, Karine Polwart and John Prine and appeared on bills alongside Laura Marling\, Van Morrison and Jason Isbell. \nHis work is defined by songs that reward attention. Songs that don’t always reveal themselves immediately but stay with people long after they’ve been heard. \nThat same approach extends into The Listening Room\, a quiet online meet where he gathers with a small group of listeners for songs and stories in a stripped-back setting. \nHe lives in Edinburgh with his daughter\, Rosa and his girlfriend Jen.
