SUMMARY:808 State (DJ Set) + The Grid (DJ Set) - Open Air Show
DESCRIPTION:Two acid house rave pioneers headline the Fox’s festival-style garden stage. \nAlso featuring Lol Hammond (Drum Club) \nThe story of 808 State defines an era of electronic dance music and sets a blueprint of possibilities for future generations. As the NME observed “808 State revolutionised a whole genre of music in the late-80s\, inspiring Underworld\, Orbital and the Chemical Brothers in the process.” \nThe Grid is a British electronic music duo formed in London in 1988 by Dave Ball\, best known from Soft Cell\, and producer Richard Norris. They met while working on the acid-house project “Jack the Tab\,” and quickly discovered a shared interest in pushing electronic music beyond traditional pop structures. \nLol Hammond began  making electronic music with Renegade Soundsystem “The Spiral Tribe” in  1991. A year later he formed the seminal “Drum Club” with London DJ Charlie hall. \nFrom 9pm – late\, stick around for an acid-centric after party featuring Louise Plus One + more tbc

SUMMARY:Speaking In Tongues: A Talking Heads Tribute
DESCRIPTION:After their brilliant debut last year at The Fox & Firkin\, Speaking In Tongues return for a highly anticipated second show! \nWhen Talking Heads emerged from the New York punk scene in the late 70s. Their career was characterized by restless experimentation\, but their core sound was defined by their spare-yet-funky guitar work and David Byrne’s distinctive yelping vocals – all propelled by the rock solid beats of Chris Frantz\, and a peppering of percussion. \nFor this celebration of the band\, the Tongues recreate the spectacle of Talking Heads at their peak\, playing hits from ‘Stop Making Sense’ \, the seminal concert film\, as well as groundbreaking albums like ‘Fear of Music’ and ‘Remain in Light’. The Tongues were formed in 2005 from some of Bristol’s finest funk players\, and the band gives his own unique take on the music of The talking Heads\, adding to the driving rhythms and funky grooves to produce that ‘once in a lifetime’ experience! \n“…this absolutely bang on reconstruction of the many faces of Talking Heads would surely merit a benign nod from the great Mr Byrne himself.” – Canteen

Breaka’s DJ sets have come to embody the versatility\, range and vibrancy of the UK underground\, and he’s grown into an artist unafraid to explore\, experiment and push boundaries. \n  \nJay Carder’s genre-warping approach to DJing and producing has made waves over the past\ndecade\, blending UK techno\, bass\, dubstep\, jungle\, footwork and more with ease. Holding down a regular slot on Rinse FM\, and performing everywhere from Glastonbury and Fusion Festival to Canada’s seminal Bass Coast\, her fluid sets and intoxicatingly positive energy are in increasingly high demand. \nCo-founder of Erbium Records\, which saw its twentieth release and fifth birthday in 2025\, she’s also had her fair share of personal releases on forward-thinking labels such as Obligated and Wisdom Teeth. Her contribution to the latter’s Club Moss compilation\, “Mekosha”\, drew comparison from RA to late-era Aphex Twin.

SUMMARY:Webmoms
DESCRIPTION:“A smouldering\, sultry offering that weaves together threads of jazz\, neo-soul\, R&B and hip-hop” – Complex UK \n“Sprawling passages of jazz-infused indie tumble into soulful spoken word stints with a breezy\nelegance. It’s an experimental sound that manages to keep a slickness and shape” – Clunkmagazine (live review) \nWebmoms is the musical brainchild of UK based instrumentalist-producer-rapper Karum Cooper. It’s a project rich in influences across the musical spectrum with several millions of streams across platforms\, national radio airplay and production credits across the globe\, to boot. With a unique twist\, Webmoms fuses conscious\, politically driven hip-hop with Neo Soul\, Electronica\, Nu Jazz and percussive flavours from across the afro diaspora. \nBorn to an Indian mother and Jamaican father\, raised in a household that played everything from 90s RnB to 50s bebop\, Punjabi Hip-Hop to classic Calypso and everything in between\, Webmoms began his musical journey began playing drums and guitar in various Metal and Alt-rock bands during in the mid 2010s. A music obsessive\, Webmoms was producing lofi-hip hop instrumentals on the side before getting a taste for music production and releasing his first EP in 2020. \nThis bedroom project has grown from strength to strength – with 2024’s self-released EP ‘For Us By Us’ marking the artists first fully vocal release. The EP\, with its nuanced and original take on Alternative Hip Hop\, RnB and Neo soul\, gained attention yet again from tastemaker press\, Spotify Editorials\, BBC networks (Radio 1Xtra\, Radio 1\, Radio6) and was supported by a 7 date UK tour with YAKUL. \n2025 saw Webmoms self-release his first singles featuring the full live band. These went on to garner more plays across BBC Radio 1 & Radio 6 as well as being featured and performed live on BBC Two television series ‘Andi Olivers Fabulous Feasts’. \nThe band went on to tour with afro-fusion outfit Nubiyan Twist as well as a debut European headline run and festival appearances at Glastonbury\, Boardmasters\, Stowaway and more. Webmoms signed with Outersouth Records (Warner Music Group) in Q3 2025 and rolled out a stream of single releases showcasing a newer\, refined direction focused on a convergence of RnB\, Hip Hop and Afro-Soul. Boasting collaborations with Dizraeli\, and building on audiences in Nigeria and South Africa by releasing collabs with\, Tim Lyre\, Umzulu Phaqa and Raytheboffin. \nWebmoms has production credits across the globe. Most notably co-producing much of the platinum selling ‘Isibuko’ and a string of 2024 singles by South African afro-pop star Sjava. For this he has been awarded 3 X South African Music Awards. \nWebmoms was selected to be part of the 2025 cohort for Tom Misch’s Wildflower rising artist programme.

SUMMARY:Ella Feingold & Charlie Hunter
DESCRIPTION:Ella Feingold and Charlie Hunter are making their first London appearence together on October 16 at the Fox & Firkin. \nThe two friend’s debut album ‘Different Strokes for Different Folks’ marks a full-circle moment for Ella Feingold\, who first saw Charlie Hunter performing in the late ’90s. She never imagined that decades later\, she’d be playing and recording alongside him as both a peer and a friend. Today\, Hunter describes her as “one of the baddest\, greasiest guitar players on the planet.” They could be described as a supergroup of soul music with each having collaborated with the likes of Erykah Badu\, Bootsy Collins\, Bruno Mars/Silk Sonic\, the Roots\, Meshell Ndegeocello\, D’Angelo and Kurt Elling (just to name a few) over the last 30 years. \nIt’s music that’s complex but never complicated.\nIt’s music for rolling the windows down and cruising.\nIt’s music that makes your neck sore.\nIt’s music to get lost in and let your mind wander.\nIt’s music to sing over.\nIt’s music that makes you want to pick up your instrument and play along.\nIt’s music that takes its time.\nIt’s minimalist funk. \nFresh off of a magical set at the Newport Jazz Festival you can be assured this will be the funkiest room in South East London. \nThis is an early show\, don’t be late.

SUMMARY:Rū Kai + Sandhouse
DESCRIPTION:A double header of raw indie\, grunge and shoegaze  \nRū Kai \nAfter years of touring and recording across diverse musical worlds\, London guitarist Tal Janes found himself at a crossroads in 2025. Being confronted with a profound call for renewal\, he expanded his world into nature\, community and history whilst simultaneously re-connecting with the grunge and post-punk sounds from his youth. \nDiscovering his voice for the first time during this period\, a new set of heavy and stripped back songs emerged\, all with a more honest\, raw and urgent sound. Cementing this new identity\, ‘RūKai’ was born. With a new band of collaborators behind him including drummer Jamie Houghton (Tom Misch/AlfaMist) and bassist Daisy George (Naomi Scott/Tom Ford)\, the debut EP ‘Reverence’ from RūKai isset for release in late 2026 \nSandhouse \nSandhouse\, the London-based duo consisting of Anna and Caspar\, has been steadily capturing attention with their captivating blend of ’60s psychedelia\, ’90s alternative rock\, and contemporary electronic influences. Emerging from a shared history in a university band back in 2018\, Their sound\, a rich tapestry woven with overdriven guitars\, haunting vocals\, and atmospheric production\, invites listeners into a world that is both raw and meticulously crafted.

SUMMARY:Lagos Thugs
DESCRIPTION:Lagos Thugs is a 12-piece Afrobeat orchestra straight out of Lagos\, Nigeria — carrying the spirit of Fela Kuti’s legendary Africa 70 and Egypt 80 into a new generation. Join us for their UK debut! \nFounded in 2020 by singer\, saxophonist\, and multi-instrumentalist Adetunji Adeyemi\, their music follows the deep architecture of classic Afrobeat — heavy bass\, hypnotic repetition\, powerful horn sections — while weaving in jazz\, dub\, and traditional drumming from Cuba and West Africa. The band made their live debut in January 2021 at Lagos’ Bature Brewery during an evening organized by acclaimed Nigerian trumpeter Etuk Ubong\, and the momentum hasn’t stopped since. Within months they locked down a headline residency\, went viral through Sofar Sounds\, and were chosen as the opening act for multiple Seun Kuti shows at The Shrine and Alliance Française. \nFela Kuti’s own trumpeter Muyiwa Kunnuji praised the band after seeing a live clip\, declaring they play with the same energy as the originals. After winning the MOP (Movement of the People) Award\, they connected with Amayo and Antibalas\, who were so impressed they featured Lagos Thugs in their Netflix documentary. Projects with Ezra Collective\, K.O.G.\, and Kaleta have further cemented their place at the forefront of a global Afrobeat revival. \nTheir debut album Chaos — four extended compositions clocking over 35 minutes — announced a band that’s both deeply reverent and completely fearless. Now signed to Mixto Records\, Lagos Thugs are bringing homegrown Nigerian Afrobeat back to the world stage.
