Event Details
On Sunday the 23rd we will be seeing in the festive season with an outdoor, Covid secure, early event, at the Fox and Firkin.
We’ll be spinnin’ classic music of Jamaican origin, from Ska, Rocksteady and deep roots Reggae, to modern exclusives. This promises to be an historic occasion, as it features the great Neville King on the wheels of steel. The renowned producer was born in St James, Jamaica. Neville’s Soundsystem had long residencies in Brixton, Tooting, Peckham and Streatham during the 1970s. During those times he was a mentor to Blacker Dread, Levi Roots and David Rodigan.
In addition to our guest star, all of the usual D.D.C. massive will be along for this one. Resident selector Soft Wax will be joined by a host of special guests. We will be welcoming back our fine, horns section of Tim Topcat ( Sax ) and Wild Will, live and direct. We’ll also be featuring our mighty Singjay Doc Murdoch on live vocals throughout. Early on, club stalwart Natty Nick will be personifying the decks in fine style.
This sonic bonanza will happen under the massive new awning, guaranteeing shelter – the garden’s newly enlarged too – from 2 til 10. It’s FREE, but advanced booking – through info@foxfirkin.com – is advised.
Our outdoor specials are always killas, come on down and get your mojo working early for Summer.
