She never imagined that decades later\, she’d be playing and recording alongside him as both a peer and a friend. Holding it down after the band’s performance will be the one and only Babylon Fox to keep us dancing until close. \nJas Kayser is at the heart of a new generation of drummers. From her formative years at Berklee College of Music under the mentorship of Terri Lyne Carrington\, Ralph Peterson and Danilo Pérez\, to leading her own band ‘Jas Kayser & Chums’\, and touring globally with Lenny Kravitz for the past two and a half years\, she has emerged as a dynamic\, powerful and genre-shifting force in contemporary music. \nAs a solo artist and bandleader\, Jas has released the EPs Unforced Rhythm of Grace and Jas 5ive (2022)\, earning strong support across UK radio from Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2)\, Julian Joseph (BBC Radio 3)\, Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 6 Music)\, alongside Jazz FM and Jazzwise. Her work has been recognised with major accolades including Jazz FM’s Breakthrough Act and Parliamentary Jazz Award for Newcomer (2021)\, a MOBO Best Jazz Act nomination (2022)\, and further nominations in 2024 for Composer’s Award and Modern Drummer’s Up & Coming Drummer poll. Alongside her work with Kravitz\, Jas has collaborated with artists such as Jorja Smith and Alfa Mist\, and continues to expand her sound with new music set for release in 2026.
