Tokyo Riddim Band are back at their spiritual home The Fox & Firkin, for a special long summer night, to celebrate their series of 7-inch single releases with a stellar lineup of DJs.

Three generations of female musicians from Japan, reggae drums, funky bass, and City Pop guitar, all dubbed-out live on stage. Tokyo Riddim Band is a cultural phenomenon unlike anything else!

The band features the legendary keyboard player Izumi “Mimi” Kobayashi. She has released many successful albums and worked with countless musical giants over her four-decade-long career.

Another incredible talent is the sensational saxophonist Megumi Mesaku, a.k.a. Miss Megoo, a fixture in London’s reggae scene, having collaborated with icons such as Jah Shaka, The Skatalites, and The Pioneers.

The rising star vocalist Ayana, a key member of the Jazzy Sport London trio and the enchanting voice behind the Indian x Japanese fusion band Sound Anthropology.

Backing the three frontwomen is an ensemble of exceptional musicians: Marley Drummond, born to play reggae drums; bass groove master Nathan Dawkins; Euan McGinty on dubby guitar; and label honcho & producer Kay Suzuki, adding the siren machine and dub mix.

We’ll have one of the founders of the long-running audiophile party Beauty & The Beat, Cedric Lassonde, alongside renowned selector of transcendent sounds Donna Leake. Kay Suzuki, Nina Yamada, and Taniya Hashimoto will be starting the night in the backyard garden.
