Indie Rising presents White Lands X Oslo Twins X Oliver Beardmore.
This night promises to spotlight the most exciting sounds coming out of London’s renowned underground scene. Our inaugural night features a stellar lineup of three break through artists who are set to elevate the stage and take you on a musical adventure:
Whitelands
A shoegaze and dreampop band… loud guitars, soft voices and something to lose yourself in. The London band – guitarist-vocalist Etienne Quartey-Papafio, guitarist Michael Adelaja, bassist Vanessa Govinden and drummer Jagun Meseorisa – delight in pairing dense sounds with layered, oblique meaning, beginning with a name that is an arch reference to the college at the University of Roehampton where Quartey-Papafio played his first show and the fact they’re people of colour operating in a genre historically dominated by white dudes.
Oslo Twins
The inaugural signing to producer Ali Chant’s Fascination Street Records, Oslo Twins are the Bristol five-piece who have been busy making their name as a live band, having shared bills with the likes of The Comet Is Coming, English Teacher, Folly Group and more.
Oliver Beardmore
Oliver’s new direction defines a sonic palate which places him at the end of a more avant-garde lineage: inspired sonically by shoegaze and dream pop royalty My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive but with a melodic sensibility more akin to Lorde and Mazzy Star.
