There’s a new jam session in Southeast London that you need to know about. All music lovers welcome. The leader of the house band and host of the night is the one and only Tjoe.
Tjoe Man Cheung is a London-based musician, composer, and creative project leader originally from Hong Kong. He is known for his distinctive sound and is an in-demand musician in the UK jazz scene. Tjoe leads the jazz-fusion group NTBM (Not-To-Be-Missed) and has performed with various other projects and artists such as Elmiene, Cherise, Queenstown collective, Brown Penny, Orii Community and many more.
For the first installation of the South Side Jazz Jam the band will feature heavyweight players Charlie Stacey (Yussef Dayes, Mikele Montolli), Sam Jones (Nubya Garcia, Obongjayer) and Ben Crane (Pyjaen, NTBM) This is a Jam session which will include free-improvisation. The first set of the night will be performed by the house band led by Tjoe. The 2nd set will be open to musicians, special guests and members of the audience.
