Save Lewisham Shopping Centre Campaign Fundraiser

HANDS OFF LEWISHAM SHOPPING CENTRE!
The Lewisham Peoples Assembly’s has organised a fundraiser for affordable housing and the Save Lewisham Shopping Centre campaign.
Join us on Monday, 26 January for a fun night of bands, comedy, and solidarity. All proceeds raised will help pay for campaign costs to stop gentrification and social cleansing in the borough.
After nearly 50 years at the heart of the community, Lewisham Shopping Centre is set to be demolished and rebuilt by Landsec along with 1,749 new homes – just 16% of which will be ‘affordable’, only 98 will be available for social rent.
10,000 households are on waiting lists, and 2,800 households face homelessness.
It’s potentially the end of an era – both for the centre and the people of Lewisham.
LEWISHAM IS NOT FOR SALE
Over 3000 Lewisham residents have signed a petition to reject the redevelopment proposal.
The Save Lewisham Shopping Centre campaign marks the beginning of a borough-wide movement driven by collective frustration and empowerment to bring an end to private property developers exploiting the desire for affordable, quality housing. JOIN US!
