‘The Drop’ with Rudi Creswick

The Drop is a night dedicated to electronic bass music, joining the dots between live musicians, DJs and producers. Hosted by Rudi Creswick—a bassist and producer known for his work with a multitude of UK soul and jazz artists and for his room shaking live bass—The Drop draws inspiration from Rudi’s roots in the vibrant DJ and club scene of Newcastle. There, he immersed himself in the sounds of Dubstep, Jungle, Dub and Garage – genres born from black musical innovation through soundsystem culture. Now, Rudi brings this energy to ‘The Drop’ through guest performances and DJs, live improv sessions and open decks, for bass music lovers and creators alike.
Kaidi + Rudi (Live):
Celebrating the first offerings of their long awaited upcoming collaborative album ‘Choose to Hold’ – Kaidi Akinnibi, a virtuoso on the saxophone and groundbreaking indie-jazz artist is teaming up with Rudi for a live set with a broad scope of underground, bass heavy UK dance music fused with jazz and spell-binding songwriting.
B-Jamsin:
A dub and 140 fanatic and pillar in the community, our DJ feature for the night, B-Jamsin. She absolutely blew everyone away during the open decks segment of our first instalment of The Drop and we’ve loved all the dub-centred sounds that we’ve heard since. We’re super excited to see what she brings to the decks this time.
Improv Session:
This is a chance for the featured artists to create some music for the dance floor in the moment, fresh and off the cuff for one time only. If you’d like to join in with your own piece of gear message us on instagram @the_drop_
