The mighty Duke Neville is known as “The Rocksteady Teacher”. We are pleased and proud to welcome him back to the D.D.C., after more than a decade since he last graced our decks. He started out on the Alpha B Soundsystem in 1980 and is a well respected, established figure on the London Reggae Revive circuit. Neville’s record auctions at Peckings Shop are the stuff of legend and speak to the depth of his personal collection of rare tunes. He also ran his own vinyl imprint “Neville Sounds”. He selects to entertain.
The evening will commence with a warm up selection from Dirt Bike Dub. We’re delighted to welcome the vibrant Edie back to select for us. She’ll be followed by Club stalwart Papa Scotchie. Papa is a well-established figure on the London reggae scene, he has DJed at nights across town and is also well known for his radio shows on vrlradio and beyond. The inimitable Scotchie exudes positive vibes and can be relied upon for a scintillating Roots Reggae set, presented with style. He’s a mean man on the mic. too.
Duke Neville will be performing in the middle of the evening, so reach early. He’ll be followed with more of the semi-live action for which the Club is known and some fresh Dubplate action. Soft Wax will be spinnin’ the rhythms; on the mic there will be toasting and singjay action, live and direct, from the mighty Doc Murdoch. There will also be live instrumentation from our fresh Horn Section, led by Tombone and Natty, with special guest vocalists.
We’re looking forward to another blinding evening of live mixes from the great Prince Fatty on the desk. An enhanced sound system is a feature of this popular night, held in a convivial boozer We expect this night to be one of our most memorable. The palatial, discrete garden will have the evening session piped out to it. It has developed into a firm favourite chill out zone for Club regulars.
