Join us for a very special Fiestas Patrias on the occasion of the 205 Anniversary of the Independence of Peru.
A very special celebration bringing together the diverse expresions from Peru today to the vibrant Fox & Firkin in Lewisham. AfroPeruvian Jarana, Chichafunk by Big Pollo, and closing the night, all the way from Peru, La Cadencia DJ set bringing the latest cumbias and huaynos from Lima, de todas las sangres, in a night to remember.

Eliana Rosas & Kieffer Santander: Jarana Afro-Peruana
Peruvian-born, London-based artists performing coastal live music and dance, including criolla music and Afro-Peruvian fusion music in London with Kieffer Santander, maestro multi-percussionist playing Peruvian and Latin music in the UK for more than 30 years. Over the years Eliana and Kieffer have brought the Afro-Peruvian month celebration to London, in some iconic venues including the Water Rats, and throughout the Orchids Festival at Kew Gardens, in 2025. In London and in several European cities a Jarana Afro-Peruana has recreated the traditional musical gatherings, usually taking place in ‘callejones’, a communal living area in Peru, lasting several days of live music and dance. A musical legacy that stirs from the unique combination of Indigenous, African and European influences catalysing collective joy, resilience building and liberation. Expect nostalgic guitars, energetic festejos, live dance and singalong of “Contigo Peru”.
Big Pollo
A Peruvian band formed in 2005 by Tato Elera, Milky Fresh, and brothers Pepe & Bruno Timarchi. Their sound, “Chichafunky”, is a vibrant fusion of Latin funk, psychedelic chicha (Peruvian cumbia), and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. A sound that feels like Peru dancing with the world. Often described as James Brown meeting Chacalón in a futuristic Latin funk universe, Big Pollo has built a unique identity that blends tradition, groove, and global energy. With six studio albums and multiple international tours, the band has performed across the Americas and Europe, including U.S. tours (2013–2014), Europe (2022–2023), and the UK (2025), as well as appearances at festivals such as Boomtown Festival.
La Cadencia, DJ Set
La Cadencia is a key cultural platform researching and situating the popular history of Peru through migrant music like cumbia, chicha, huayno. A refreshing take on today’s evolution of music from different parts of the country emulsified in the chaotic Lima, expect the voice of the popular music of Peru today from its key artistic representatives such as Armonia 10, Wemblers (Iquitos), Vico and its group Karicia, Revelacion 5:40, Pintura Roja, among others to dance the night away.
